How Long Does it Take to Wax a Car?
People are constantly obsessing over time. We have made time the center of all of our lives, as it is the judge of the decisions we make. How often do we mutter to ourselves, “I don’t have time for that,” or “I wish I just had more time,” or “There’s not enough hours in a day.”
The older you get, the busier you seem to get, with having a family and steadily moving up within your work community. It is understandable that there are certain things that you do not want to make time for.
One of the things that many people simply do not want to focus on is the maintenance of their car.
While many love their cars and obsess over them, especially if it was an expensive purchase, the large majority of us just see it as getting us from Point A to Point B.
However, dedicating time to the maintenance of your car is actually going to increase the safety of your driving and also decrease the amount of money you are going to spend in the future.
Maintaining your vehicle
So why should you bother to maintain your vehicle? Well for starters, it is going to be a lot safer for you.
Do you want to be driving something that professionals have said is not good to be on the road? There have been numerous accidents caused by cars that should not have been on the road in the first place.
It is crucial that you take the time to get your car checked regularly, to see if everything is working in the right place. This is definitely going to ensure a long life for your car, and help you avoid having to make a huge purchase on a fix later down the road.
To keep your car looking brand new it is crucial that you take the time to focus on both the interior and the exterior of the car.
For the interior, it is a basic cleaning, such as you would do around the house. Just pull out the vacuum and suck up any unwanted crumbs. This is going to decrease the amount of dust found in the car.
One of the more important aspects to maintain the car is the exterior. This is where a lot of dirt and grime can build up, and if you do not take the time to clean it, it can lead to a lot of rust and things beginning to fall off/break.
First off, get your car regularly cleaned. Go to the local gas station or another place of your choice, and pay for a car wash at least once a month, to ensure that the dirt is getting cleaned.
However, this is simply not enough, which is why many people turn to polishing and waxing their car. This is the most important thing you can be doing to the exterior of your car, and it is actually so easy once you get hang of it!
Waxing is going to give your car a brilliant shine and also lift the hardened dirt up, better than any cleaner could.
It also is going to provide added protection from the environment and keep your car looking as good as new throughout all seasons.
How long does it take?
This is probably going to be your first question, because as we discussed before, everyone is obsessed with time.
The answer is a bit tricky, as it all depends on a variety of factors. What type of vehicle do you own? What kind of wax are you going to be using? How thorough of a wax job are you going to do?
Obviously, if you have a large SUV, it is going to take a lot longer to wax than a small Honda Civic. Typically, a smaller car (such as the Civic) is going to take about 1 hour to wax.
However, if you add claying into the process, and rinsing, the entire process could roughly take around 4-5 hours. For a larger waxing process, to really do detailing on a vehicle, it can take even 8 hours or more.
While it may seem like a bit of time, waxing is totally worth it;it is going to prolong the life of your car while giving it a great look.
